To God Be The Glory!

To God Be The Glory!

Living in the land of opportunity, we have so many choices, so many different paths we can follow. This can be a blessing but it can also lead to confusion, trying one thing after the other, constantly starting over again, and so getting nowhere. I have moved so many times, tried so many different things, I can fill pages with so much detail of my life and I am still relatively young. The majority of the world live in places where choices are basically made for them and they have very little options regarding direction. Sometimes I long for that, a more simple life where I know what to expect and just make the best of it. Yet, now as a Christian I have a shepherd, one who will lead and guide me as long as I acknowledge Him. Even with all the noise around, His still small voice speaks to those whom listen, and direction can be found.

Paul here writes to the Ephesians in chapter 1:1-2, that he is under God's plan, greeting the believers with grace and peace from God the Father. Do we have our own plan for life or are we following God's plan? If we are too sure of our future we probably have our own plan. God's plan is never too clear, He reveals just what we need to know for each day and just enough for tomorrow to be made ready. His plan's are beyond what we can imagine or think, we would run from them if we knew them. So He reveals a part here and a part there, just enough to keep us moving. Since I have been a Christian I have never been bored, life is full of exciting, unbelievable, adventurous experiences, where miracles take place on a regular basis.

It is not that I am living blind, I see ahead, I have hopes and dreams that I know will come to pass, but how it is all going to unfold is a mystery. For God to get the Glory, we must get out of the way. Yes His glory is seen through us but only when we are yielded to His ways. The more we seem to know the more we take hold of things without faith, and His glory departs.

Verse two says it is by "the grace and peace poured into our lives by God the Father." For the glory of Lord to fill the earth, we must not take any credit for what only He can do. God's work in and through us will often be credited by man to ourselves and that is when we must shift the focus away from us onto God. Daily we must submit ourselves to Him so He can direct our path, that our plans become His plans, and our strength, His strength, and therefore empowered from above to fulfill them.

Growing In Glory!

This is the beginning of a new series called Growing in God's Glory. It will cover Ephesians, Colossians, and the books of Peter. Heaven's purpose for Earth is that it be filled with God's Glory. The glory of God is contained in earthen vessels in those who believe, accept, and faithfully obey the call.

Just as their are naturally different stages of growth so there are spiritually. As we grow in our relationship with Christ we have more of His glory. We initially begin just as babies, self focused, we love just being in His presence and feeding on His Word. This is the stage of restoration, where we return to our original purpose, fellowship with God. The second phase is youth, this is a time where we discover our identity, letting go of who we were separate from God to who we now are in Christ Jesus. It is a time of being inspired through the inner work of the Holy Spirit. The third stage is adulthood, now that we have discovered our identity and capabilities in Christ we now use it to serve mankind with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, manifesting the Glory of God.

As I stated in my last blog what is going to change our world is not changed laws or new leaders it is the light of Jesus Christ dispelling darkness through the Glory of God in our lives. Let us have the desire to grow up, no longer behaving as spiritual babes but mature sons and daughters of God, His instruments to eradicate such evil as human trafficking, extreme poverty, terrorism, etc. When hearts change, laws and leaders will change with it.

We must build up our spirit by more and more time in worship, prayer and the reading of God's Word. Let us take a vow to increase our spiritual intake. Less World, More Word!

So I hope you are as excited as I am to begin this new journey. I desire for myself and those that read these devotions, significant spiritual growth personally and territorially where God's Glory completely shifts the atmosphere both within our homes and communities.
